Viewers of regional news programme BBC North West Tonight would have been surprised to see AM Seafoods taking part in the programme on Wednesday 6th May. This was the final part of the BBC’s coverage the day before the General Election.
Lancaster and Fleetwood was one of the key marginal seats in the Election and the BBC wanted to focus on local business and the economy in the region. They were particularly keen to look at the fishing industry, how it has changed in the past few years, what our future hopes are and what we hoped would happen in the Election and the affects it would have on our business.
We were more than happy to oblige and opened the factory to filming and interviews with BBC presenter Mark Edwardson. Mark spent time with Directors of the company Peter and Mark Merrick together with factory floor interviews with Production Manager Tracey Geddes and Production Supervisor Svet Tonev.
