B&M Fishing Fine for the Anne Mary B

A recent misunderstanding with the Isle of Man government saw the owner and skipper of the Anne Mary B receiving a fine for fishing without the appropriate licence.

The vessel had been arrested in Isle of Man waters due to an administration error on the part of the owners regarding the appropriate required licence for the size of the vessel.

The owner of the Anne Mary B explained to the relevant authorities how they have four vessels in their fleet, three of which are over 15 metres long and are correctly licenced.

B&M Fishing and AM Seafoods who own the vessel were disappointed that the issue was taken to court as they had attempted to resolve the issue without using court time.  The outcome was a fine of £17,000 and the catch of £1,728 forfeited and both duly paid.

B&M Fishing and AM Seafoods are heavily involved in joint schemes regarding longevity of fishing in the seas, conservation and fishing controls with the Fisheries Dept for several years.

Happily, the Anne Mary B proudly displays her correct licence to fish in Isle of Man waters
