Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR is important to us at AM Seafoods deal exclusively in ‘non-quota’ species of shellfish which are subject to regular stock assessments by the relevant UK Government bodies.
The company subscribes to the tenets of the ‘Responsible Fishing Scheme’ run by the Seafish Industry Authority and we actively encourage and work with fishermen to also be part of this scheme.
Over the years we have continuously spoken up for the employment of sustainable fishing techniques and played our role in research and development projects.
As part of our CSR we currently part sponsor a PHD student from Bangor University who is carrying out research relating to scallops’ stock in the English Channel, with a view starting the process towards Marine Stewardship Accreditation, which is being run by the Scallop Association.
