Sponsorship of Ryan P Davies – Professional Welterweight Boxer
AM Seafood’s Ltd are proud to confirm their sponsorship of Ryan P Davies. 27 year old Ryan from Blackpool became a Professional Welterweight Boxer in September 2014.
Managed by boxing promoter Dennis Hobson, Ryan had a three year wait for his professional debut fight. This delay was caused by the medical discovery of a heart issue.
Ryan had a sparring session in Ricky Hatton’s gym when he was aged 24 and was invited to make his pro-debut at one of Ricky’s shows. Upon taking his boxing medical he discovered an anomaly with his heart. Eventually after many tests and meetings with the British Boxing Board and the NHS, Ryan was given the all clear.
His debut pro fight against Jason McArdle in September proved tough for Ryan but he won and it helped him to boost his rankings. In his third professional fight, held at the de Vere Hotel in Blackpool, Ryan had an entertaining battle with experienced Danny Little. Ryan made it three in a row as a pro-boxer with a points win over six rounds in what the local press described as “an entertaining scrap”.
Ryan trains at Dennis Hobson’s gym in Sheffield every fortnight and spends the majority of time training and sparring at Sharpstyle Amateur Gym in Blackpool with his father who is still his trainer.
Ryan is keen to emulate the same sort of success that local boxer Brian Rose has achieved and become an ambassador in the sport. His aim is to try and win the British title which he realises is a massive challenge but a goal he wants to achieve.
