St Wulstans and St Edmunds Primary School Project
AM Seafoods Ltd have recently assisted St Wulstans and St Edmunds Primary School with their “Fantastic Fleetwood” school topic. This involved the donation of fresh whole cooked crab to the School. School teacher Mrs Emma Peel together with some of the schoolchildren had been given permission by the Deputy Head to visit AM Seafoods’ factory.
In the company’s Development Kitchen they were all shown how to open the crab, the parts of the crab and types of meat that are taken from them for human consumption. It was with delight that Mrs Peel and the children took a batch of crabs back to St Wulstans with them.
The purpose behind the visit was to educate the school children about what a large part of their town growth and history is due to the Fleetwood Fishing Industry and how AM Seafoods has been a major contributor to this since the early 1970’s. The fun side and hands on learning, was to allow the children the opportunity of producing their own seafood salad from the crab that was provided.
