Update on Jake James Moore – Traditional Karate Federation

2017 has been another busy year so far for young Jake. This included a move up to a higher age group with him now facing competition against 13 and 14 year olds.  So far this year Jake has attended 8 tournaments and has gained 13 medals.

Earlier on in the year Jake was selected to be part of the Federation of English Karate Organisations (FEKO), International Squad.  He was picked to compete with them to represent England at the 9th WUKF European Championships in Cluj-Napoca Romania on the 5th – 9th April.

This is a huge tournament held over 4 days, starting with an amazing opening ceremony with over 20 countries and over 1,800 competitors taking part.  Jake competed on the Saturday, with his division including athletes from Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Scotland, Ireland and England.

Jake performed amazingly under pressure winning through his rounds to a tie-off for first and second place.  At such a high level competitive tournament this was an amazing achievement, and we are proud to say that he is now a European Silver Medallist for Kata.

Jake continues to train hard with more tournaments coming up and hopefully being selected for more internationals.  With more competition’s to come in July he is a very busy little boy who simply loves his sport.
